Is dinner and a movie becoming too hum drum? Having a hard time agreeing on what to do for your next date night? Look no further. Head to ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo on select dates from September 25th through October 31st and explore fun Halloween-themed activities, seasonal food & beverages, and of course, animals! ZooBoo begins after 2pm Wednesday-Sunday.
Before you begin your journey to ZooBoo for your next date night, here’s a guide to help make the most out of your visit at ZooBoo!
What is Halloween without costumes? Whether it’s a onesie of your favorite animal or your favorite character from a movie, get some ideas together with your partner and wear a costume to ZooBoo. However, full-face makeup or costume masks are only allowed for guests ages 12 and under.
If you’re looking to avoid the large weekend crowds of ZooBoo, we recommend coming on a Wednesday or Thursday night.
Sink your teeth into delicious Halloween-themed menu items. From Tombstone Tacos to Cauldron Cupcakes, you’ll find something to feast your eyes and your stomach. Be sure to check out our ZooBoo Foodie Guide presented by Red Gold before you visit to decide what you would like to try.
For ghouls ages 21 and over, there are two specialty cocktails to try on your visit to ZooBoo, from “Pumpkin Spice A Rita” to “Spooky Smash.” If you come on a Friday or Saturday, from 5pm-8pm, make your way through the “Adult-Trick-or-Treat Trail” and sample specialty cocktails and spirits from around Indianapolis.
Even our animals are getting into the spirit of Halloween, from pumpkin smashes in the Elephant yard to a Halloween-themed Dolphin show. Temperatures drop in the fall, which means that many animals will be more active. Outdoor exhibits will remain open until dusk, and our indoor exhibits, including the Penny & Jock Fortune International Chimpanzee Complex presented by Central Indiana Honda Dealers will remain open until 9pm.
