Dolphin Meet & Greet

All participants must be at least 6 years old. Individuals under the age of 6, including infants, are not able to participate or enter the Dolphin Meet & Greet area. Children ages 6–13 must be accompanied by a paid adult participant for the duration of the program.

Your total adventure will be around 20-25 minutes following the end of a scheduled Dolphin Presentation.

For your safety, we recommend against wearing flip flops, as the behind-the-scenes deck can become wet. Tennis shoes or other shoes with rubber-type bottoms are recommended.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own devices to capture photos/videos, as photographers will not be provided during this experience. Due to needing both hands free, participants will not be able to “selfie” this experience, but the opportunity will be given for a paid member of your party to take photos/video of the interaction.

During this brief encounter that follows a scheduled Dolphin Presentation, staff will ask participants to kneel on a mat at the edge of one of the behind-the-scenes pools to meet a dolphin up close. A dolphin will be called to the Meet & Greet location, and you’ll have an opportunity to briefly hold their pectoral flippers. Participants will not be in the water but rather at the edge of the pool.

Participants should check in 15–20 minutes prior to the start of the Dolphin Presentation. Look for the Dolphin Meet & Greet check-in sign upon entering the Ascension St. Vincent Dolphin Pavilion. Reserved seating for the Dolphin Presentation is included.

Yes. This program requires a short period of kneeling. If someone in your group has a special need or mobility issue, please contact us at edustaff@indyzoo.com prior to registering to discuss accessibility.

We require 48 hours’ advanced notice for any refunds or rescheduling requests for Animal Adventures.

No requests for changes or refunds will be honored after this time. If you do not attend on your scheduled date or cancel within the required time frame of your Educational Program date, no refunds will be issued. Please read program details and requirements closely before signing up to ensure all participating members of your party meet any age or height requirements.

If the Zoo must cancel a program due to low registration, animal well-being or weather, you will be notified by phone and sent an email. You will have 14 days from that notification to reschedule your event to a future date. If you do not reach out to reschedule within this period, you will be issued a refund and are welcome to rebook on your own at a time convenient for you.
