As a continuation of our commitment to be a Zoo for all, the Indianapolis Zoo is excited to expand our sensory-inclusive days to all our special events this year. On two days of each of our special events, xZooberance, Zoo Boo, and Christmas at the Zoo, the event will be modified to be sensory-inclusive with alterations to sound, smell and lighting.
In addition, on these sensory-inclusive days, the Zoo will be offering a calming room in the Hix Institute across from Oceans for individuals that may require a quiet space for self-regulation.
As with every other day, KultureCity sensory bags and lap pads will be available to borrow for this event at no charge. Please visit the KultureCity section of our accessibility page for details.
xZooberance : Sundays, April 6th and 13th, 12-4 pm
Zoo Boo: Wednesdays, October 15th and 29th, 2-7 pm

Members of the Zoo’s Security staff are trained as first responders for emergency situations.
