NEW! Asian Impressions at White River Gardens
September 26-November 8
Travel to the Far East in this new show at the Gardens. As guests enter the Hilbert Conservatory through a bamboo pagoda, they will see the embodiments of Asian garden design, including a miniaturized hill and pond, hanging baskets of conifers, beautiful shoji paper screens, trickling water features, and floating red gossamer. Over 30 bonsai specimens will be on display, enclosed by a bamboo gate that emphasizes the idea of solitude. This shows promises to offer any visitor a wonderful spot for relaxation and contemplation. Asian Impressions at White River Gardens is free for members and included with regular Zoo admission.
The Conservatory shows are supported through an endowment funded by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation, Inc. The Indianapolis Zoo Art and Nature programming is supported by the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the City of Indianapolis.
