Helping our guests have a safe and enjoyable visit to the Indianapolis Zoo is one of our main priorities. That's why we're giving parents and caregivers an opportunity to get their child safety seats inspected for free as part of the Automotive Safety Program. Come to the Zoo parking lot from 5 to 7pm Thursday, September 20, 2012, where certified child passenger technicians will perform inspections on child safety seats.
As many as 85 percent of child safety seats are misused, and as part of the free assessment, it's important for parents or caregivers bring the child as well as the safety seat on September 20. A limited number of new child safety seats will be provided to qualifying care givers on a first-come, first-served basis.
Donations to this program will be accepted at the clinic. The Automotive Safety Program, Dorel Juvenile Group, Safe Kids Indiana and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Governor's Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving are sponsors of this event.
