ABOUT LOWELL B. NUSSBAUM

Journalist Lowell B. Nussbaum was not satisfied to simply imagine a zoo in Indianapolis. He helped found the Zoological Society on Oct. 24, 1944. For the next eleven years he helped plan the future of the Zoo. The Indianapolis Zoo has named its donor society in Mr. Lowell Nussbaum’s honor and it recognizes supporters who make an annual gift of $1,350 or more. The vision of Mr. Nussbaum and the founders of our Zoo lives on today through our friends who help make the dream a reality with generous financial support.
