CHIMPANZEES COMING THIS MAY

Capital Campaign

Our Zoo | Our Community | Our World

Wildly Ambitious

The Indianapolis Zoo is a community icon with a global mission. We inspire people of all ages to protect nature, and our team is working to save species around the world. Our global path includes new and exciting developments like the International Chimpanzee Complex. When you give to support the campaign, you will help create a Zoo-spanning home for thirty chimpanzees. This will be our most engaging encounter to date, and the first of its kind in North America.

The Indianapolis Zoo is more than a place. It’s a place with a purpose. Together, we have the power to protect the natural world. Our capital campaign will fund the expansive new International Chimpanzee Complex, the innovative Global Center for Species Survival, and the Indianapolis Colts Welcome Plaza, an entirely reimagined entryway for Zoo visitors. See what’s planned and how you can help!

WELCOMING THE WORLD

The entry experience will become an immersive outdoor walkway, complete with animal encounters. When you give a gift of any amount, you will help us welcome the world in a brand new fashion.

CREATING A HOME FOR CHIMPANZEES IN INDY

Your gift will help to create a vast environment with multiple outdoor yards and buildings connected by a series of elevated trails, enabling the chimpanzees to travel freely among spaces.

YOUR GIFT WILL HELP CREATE THIS GROUNDBREAKING EXHIBIT

The International Chimpanzee Complex will span a large portion of the Zoo’s campus and provide an enriching, functional forest for approximately 30 chimpanzees. This innovative exhibit—the first of its kind in a zoo setting—will recreate important aspects of chimpanzees’ natural habitat, allowing them to explore, socialize, and thrive.
